The Kent County Public Library is delighted to be participating in the Maryland Commission on African American History and Culture’s 3rd Annual Statewide Book Drive and invites you to be a part of making an impact by donating a book!

What to Donate:
New or nearly new books focusing on discovering, documenting, preserving, collecting, and promoting Maryland’s African American heritage.

When to Donate:
February – May 2026
Donations must be made inside the library during KCPL’s regular business hours. Please do not put donations in the book drop.

Where to Donate:
All KCPL branches

Donated books will be distributed to the community during Main Street Chestertown’s Juneteenth celebration. Stay tuned for more details!
